THE ORIGIN & PURPOSE

About The 2% Engine

Every week, Chibundu Nnake sits down with a leader sharing how they were forged. The pivotal moments, hard decisions, and daily reps behind who they became, and leaves you with one 2% move you can run in the next 24 hours.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Leadership is not a title you inherit. It is a practice, built by reps.

Most people were never taught how to lead. They were promoted into it, thrown into it, told to figure it out. If we can train strength and speed and skill, we can train character, habits and influence.

That is what a 2% move is. One specific action, small enough to run inside a day you already have, repeated until it holds under pressure. Not one percent, because leadership moves inward and outward at once, so every move has to make you better and make the room better.

Every episode of this show ends on one. That is the whole format. The interview traces how a leader was built, and the last thing you hear is something you can run tomorrow.

THE AUDIENCE

This show is for you if

Curated for leaders, operators, and builders who value character and daily consistency over hype.

✓

You lead people, a team or a company. Or you are on your way and want to learn from those who do.

✓

You are tired of leadership advice that is all highlight reel and no reps.

✓

You believe character and consistency beat charisma and hacks.

✓

You want one practical move from every episode, not just a nice conversation.

✓

You are building something, and you want to build it two percent better, every day.

THE 4 PILLARS

One system. Four ways in.

Everything Getting Better Everyday makes is about one of four things. This show included.

Lead Yourself

Why am I the last person on my own list?

You are the one people come to. Nobody comes to check on you.

You are doing the work and quietly wondering whether you are ready for what is next.

Lead People

Why is it still easier to just do it myself?

You know you should be developing them. You are managing their output instead.

You are leading a project full of people who do not report to you, and doing half of it yourself.

Lead Rooms

How do I move a room I do not run?

You run the meeting, and the real conversation happens after it.

You have the answer, and the decision gets made without you.

Build Culture

How do I make this hold when I am not in the room?

It works when you are watching. That is not a culture, that is supervision.

You run your piece the right way and watch everything around it run differently.

Every episode is tagged to one of the four. So is every essay in Everyday Leadership Lab and every tool in the Vault. Find the one closest to your week and follow it across the whole ecosystem.

THE HOST, IN FULL

Chibundu Nnake

Chief Leadership Officer, Getting Better Everyday  ·  Host, The 2% Engine

Chibundu Nnake is the Chief Leadership Officer of Getting Better Everyday and host of The 2% Engine.

He is the eldest of three, born to Nigerian immigrants, raised in Houston. He was a classroom teacher and a football coach before he was anything else, which is why he believes what he believes. Leadership is not a gene. It is trained, the same way strength is.

He walked on as a linebacker at THE Ohio State University, where nobody cared how confident he felt. They cared what the film showed.

He has spent his career in rooms where the pressure was real: Congress, national campaigns, and presidential advance operations. He built the government relations function at NetApp and led US privacy campaigns at Google. Today he advocates and shapes technology policy at the College Board as Senior Director of Government Relations for Privacy, AI, and Technology, so students have access to the resources and opportunities that clear a path for them to own their future.

He is President of the Ohio State University Black Alumni Society and a former National Chair of the National Black Law Students Association.

JD/MBA. Three kids.

He teaches leadership the way he learned it: as reps.
