This page explains what happens when you record an episode of The 2% Engine. It is written plainly on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email podcast@gbeleadership.com before you record.

The 2% Engine is produced by GBE Leadership Media, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Iterative Media, LLC. This notice works alongside the Getting Better Everyday Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, which cover this website.

WHAT WE RECORD

Your conversation is recorded in audio and video. We also generate a written transcript. We may capture your name, title, organization, likeness, voice, and anything you say during the session.

Recording begins only after we have joined the session together and you know it has started. If you would rather not appear on video, tell us before we record and we will capture audio only.

WHERE IT GOES

The finished episode is published on podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, on this website with a full transcript, and in shorter clips on social media.

We may also use excerpts in promotional material, newsletters, presentations, teaching material, and future Getting Better Everyday content.

WHAT YOU ARE AGREEING TO

By recording with us, you grant GBE Leadership Media, LLC a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to record, edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, translate, caption, excerpt and promote the episode and its contents, in any media now known or later developed, and to use your name, title, organization, likeness and voice in connection with it.

You confirm that you are free to take part, that nothing you say breaches an agreement you have with anybody else, and that you are not sharing confidential or privileged information belonging to an employer, client or third party.

You are not paid for taking part, and you are not charged.

WHAT YOU KEEP

Your words remain yours to repeat, publish and reuse anywhere you like. Nothing here restricts what you can say elsewhere.

You receive the finished episode links, professionally edited clips cut for LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, quote cards, and suggested copy. All of it is yours to use however you want, with no restriction and no expiry.

CUTS AND CORRECTIONS

After recording we send a short survey that asks directly whether there is anything you would rather we cut. Tell us and it goes. No explanation needed and no negotiation.

After publication, if you find a factual error, tell us and we will correct it. If something has changed in your circumstances and a passage has become a problem, tell us and we will discuss removing or editing it. We will act reasonably. We cannot recall copies already downloaded, and platforms outside our control may retain cached versions.

HOW LONG IT STAYS UP

Episodes are intended to remain available indefinitely. We may remove, re-edit or re-release an episode at our discretion.

EDITORIAL CONTROL

We edit for clarity and length. We do not edit to change your meaning. The final edit is ours, and you do not approve it before publication. The cut request above is the mechanism that protects you, and it is the reason we ask before the edit rather than after.

YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

What we collect from your application and intake, how long we keep it, and your rights over it are covered in the Getting Better Everyday Privacy Policy. If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will, but that is separate from the published episode, which is covered by the license above.

MINORS

We do not record guests under 18 without written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
